When
you look at the territory, it seems that Lazio
is made up of various landscapes: its northern
zones have mountains like the Marche, while
other areas are full of lush vegetation with
greens forests and extended of olive groves
that bring to mind Umbria.
The
coastal parts benefit from the sea and have
mild Winters and fresh Summers. In the inner
parts of Lazio the Winter is cold and the Summer
warm summer.
They
say "All roads lead to Rome". This may be true
but defintely all major Italian roads and railway lines
start in Rome. The main routes still follow the the ancient
roman roads: the Via Flaminia goes to Rimini, the Via Cassia
to Florence, the Aurelia follows the cost until Florence,
the Via Appia goes to Brindisi, the Via Salaria connects
Rome to Ascoli Piceno and the Via Tiburtina goes to Pescara.
Rome
has two airports: Ciampino and Fiumicino.
