The landscape is mostly mountainous and hilly.
There are lots of soft rounded off mountains
with spectacular cliffs. Even the agricultural
land of the plains is rocky.
You will not find big cities in the Molise.
The small cities are found on the tops of the
hills. There are no ports on the coast and the
area is not very populated.
Climate:
The climate is typically continental
with cold Winters and warm Summers. There are plentiful
snowfalls in the mountains. The rains are scarse in
the summer months. On the coast the climate is mild.
Comunications:
The railways, roads and motorway provide
good communications with the Abruzzo and the Apulian
Adriatic coast. A secondary railway line leaves from
Termoli, enters Campobasso and continues to Benevento.
The inner communication routes are insufficient, hindered
by the mountains.
